Running....ahhhh!!!!

So, I haven't been able to go to the gym for the past two days because GA has been running a little bit of a fever...and although he doesn't seem to be "sick" I can't put him in the kids' room. I wouldn't appreciate another mom doing that! Anyways, yesterday I did nothing, but today I woke up motivated and decided I would load the kids up in the jogging stroller and go for a run. So, I did...and I ran about 50 feet! I cannot run! And I HATE to run! I am not sure what the deal is. I can do 2 hours of cardio at the gym, and be at a peak heart rate for quite a while, but when I start to run I feel like I am going to die 1 minute into it! Seriously, I probably don't even make it a full minute. Pathetic, I know! I really want to do a triathlon next summer with some friends, and of course the Man, but I really don't think I will be able to do it unless I do it as a team and avoid the running! I am not sure what the deal is with me and running...I have never been a fan! But why is the exertion so different than doing other cardio?!? It frustrates me. Running is the perfect cardio workout because there really aren't a whole lot of reasons not to do it...I can always take the kids, the weather is always great, it doesn't take a trip to the gym (which means no loading and unloading of kids), I can do it any time of day....I wish there was a magic running pill that made is easy. Everyone always tells me the first 5 minutes or so are rough, but after that they feel like they can run for days! I can't even make it five minutes or so!!! Bummer for me! So anyways, my run turned into a nice walk, which was actually quite enjoyable for all of us. Maybe on my weigh training days at the gym we will head home and walk as well. And since the run didn't work out too well this morning, I will give my chance for cardio one more shot today and will load the kids up in the bike trailer and ride to go get MG from school! I know I can do that! :)

I totally know what you're talking about. Bac in the day, (when I was actually on shape,) I could work ou, crazy hard, for hours, but the moment I would start running... that was it, I was done. I could teach 2 aerobics classes, have 2 hours of cheer practice, and still go work out at the gym, but I didn't even want to run around the block. Not even run... just jog... ok... even walk with a hop. LOL. You can imagine how bad it is now that I am totally out of shape. So how did you lose all your Mommy insulation? Because I need help!!
